With “Henderson’s Groove” Deep Tenor City have teamed up with Brooklyn’s DJ Romain to produce two slices of standout house music. Whilst this release is a true transatlantic collaboration, Deep Tenor
City and DJ Romain put their stamp across the two mixes. Both are highly atmospheric and use lush swirls of trumpet and mesmeric synth work, with help from Tom Funk. Deep Tenor City’s mix employs its signature percussive workout, whilst Romain’s ‘Vibratory Frekquency’ mix employs his signature more jackin’ feel. This release follows up the highly acclaimed Oba and Fireheart EPs. Deep Tenor City is the duo, Dan T-C and Oli Savill. Oli is also known for his percussion work with the Basement Jaxx, Dayme Arocena, Kaidi Tatham, and Roy Ayers. The duo present the successful Deep Tenor City Radio Show. The roots of this collab date back to when Dan bought a Romain’s 'It’s the Spirit' back in the day (from none other than BBE’s Jeremy Newall). Fast forward 15 years and Dan meets Romain by chancein Brooklyn, and the idea for a collab was born. As a DJ in the 90’s, Romain started getting noticed for his sets at the top NYC clubs like Palladium, Limelight, Tunnel, Sound Factory bar, Club USA and NYC’s legendary 'Save The Robots'. As a producer, Romain has releases under his belt on some of the most influential house labels (Strictly Rhythm, Defected, King Street, Room Control & Soul Heaven). His collaboration with DJ Danny Krivit, ‘Philly’s Groove’ sold over 20,000 copies worldwide.
